Kevin Skinner,  is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Kentucky, where country is a way of life. He picked up the guitar at 12 and has never put it down. Kevin quickly realized that conveying his feelings through his songs was a very special gift. Music is a powerful potion that Kevin loves to share. He said that winning “America’s Got Talent” would be a great gift, but just being a part of the show is something that he will never forget.

Tonight the farmer from Kentucky has received his gift, he is the winner of America’s Got Talent 2009;receiving one million dollar prize as well as the Las Vegas headline show.

After the long season, The America’s Got Talent 2009 Top 10 finalists were:

Kevin Skinner, Grandma Lee, Texas Tenors, Recycled Percussion, Barbara Padilla, Fab Five, Voices of Glory, Drew Stevyns, Hairo Torres, Lawrence Beaman.

Final performances took place on Monday, September 14, (a detailed recap is here) with the audience then given the opportunity to vote for the winner.

Swayze’s publicist Annett Wolf says the 57-year-old "Dirty Dancing" actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments.

It was 1987 when Swayze became a star with his performance in "Dirty Dancing," a coming-of-age story set in a Catskills resort in New York. The 1990 film "Ghost" cemented his status as a screen favorite. Swayze played a murdered man trying to communicate with his fiancée through a spirit played by Whoopi Goldberg.
